Abstract

PURPOSE: To make possible dissimilar speed running of upper and lower rolls by providing a lower-upper speed difference setting regulator to the drive side of at least one roll.
CONSTITUTION: Running speed references by the rolling lschedule of the entire part are outputted from a main controller rolling speed setter 10. Respective stand speed setters 11, 21 send the speed reference signals conforming to drafts via upper-lower speed difference setting regulators 6a, 6b to the speed control units 5a, 5b of upper and lower roll driving motors 3a, 3b. In this way, dissimilar speed running of the upper and lower rolls 1a, 1b of each stand becomes feasible. In addition, the dissimilar speed running becomes feasible in the similar manner as above even by providing one upper-lower speed difference setting regulator 6 to the speed control unit 5a side alone without independently giving the speed references to the motors 3a, 3b of the upper and lower rolls la, 1b.
