Abstract

PURPOSE: To make it possible to simultaneously detect the accelerations of translational and rotational vibrations by constructing a pickup of a pair of acceleration sensors having the same sensitivity so that the sum and difference of the respective outputs are obtained.
CONSTITUTION: A pair of acceleration sensors P1 and P2 having the same sensitivity, which are composed of a mass member and a piezoelectric element, are arranged in a case C such that their respective sensitivity axes Z1 and Z2 are arranged in parallel and at a spacing l, thereby to produce a pickup. The outputs of the respective elements P1 and P2 are connected with an adder OA and a substractor OD, respectively. If, now, the pickup is supplied with an acceleration in a Z direction and with an angular acceleration of rotational vibrations around an axis extending through the centers of gravity of the mass members of the elements P1 and P2, the adder OA and the subtractor OD generates the outputs VA and VB which are proportional to the acceleration and the angular acceleration. Thus, the accelerations of the rotational and translational vibrations can be simultaneously detected by means of the single pickup.
