Abstract

PURPOSE: To increase productivity and to reduce fuel consumption per unit product, by charging materials to be treated at different heat-treating temps. into a heat-treating furnace at a prescribed interval, and by heat-treating continuously the materials respectively at prescribed temp.
CONSTITUTION: When a steel plate 2, which is to be tempered at a°C, is charged into a continuous heat-treating furnace, all zones 1aW1g are maintained at a°C. When the plate 2 passed through the zone 1a, the temp. of the zone 1a is changed to the tempering temp. b°C for a plate 3 which is to be charged next. The plate 2 and 3 are charged at an interval of at least two buffer zones. The heat-treating furnace is divided into three sections AWC (not shown in Fugure). The plate is charged into the section A at a high speed, stayed in the section B for a prescribed time, and is charged into the section C at a high or low speed. Plates of equal treating temps. are charged continuously. Because this method mekes it possible to treat continuously materials to be treated at different temps., the productivity is increased, and the fuel consumption per unit product is reduced.
