Abstract

PURPOSE: To enhance the service life of water pipes by simple and assured deaeration, the steam chamber in the gas-water separator is provided with a water feed pipe having a number of throttle holes.
CONSTITUTION: The gas-water separator 1 and the water feed pipe 13 are connected in the steam chamber 4 at the location upper the cyclon pipe 2 inlet and lower the top lid 2. The ring type water feed pipe 14 having a number of throttle holes 15 is faced to the top lid 2. Through this construction, the steam-water mixture is flowed in the steam chamber 4 through the cyclon 2 and separated into dry steam and hot water. These are either discharged through internal cylinder 5 or trapped in the water reservoir 8. At the same time, the water level detector 12 finds the level 9 and controls the feed water from the pump. The water is jetted through the throttles 15 at a specified pressure difference to impinge on the lid 6 and shell 3 to be splashed as fine water droplets. These are nixed by cyclon action of water- steam agitation, being deaerated and desteamed to fall in the water reservoir 8. Thus, oxygen dissolved in water is effectively removed.
