Abstract

PURPOSE: Small sized reliable rotary compressor in which fluid may be compressed by a swingable slant plate itself.

CONSTITUTION: When a spherical rotary body 3 integral with a rotary axis 2 is rotated a swingable slant plate 4 is fitted in a groove 32 of the rotary body 3 which is inclined with respect to the rotary axis 2 and at the same time the position plates 5a and 5b fixed to the casing member 11 are axially inserted, so that the swingable slant plate 4 is slidably moved with respect to said channel 32 without any rotation thereof, guided by the partition plates 5a and 5b to perform only an axial swinging movement. Reference may be made to particular chamber A, the slant plate 4 is displaced in a rightward direction under a changed axial inclination angle and thereby a volume of the partition chamber A will be increased. Thereby, the chamber A and the intake chamber 8 are communicated via intake port 80a, and the fluid is flowed into the chamber A. This fluid is then compressed when the slant plate 4 is displaced in a leftward direction and the fluid is flowed into the discharge chamber 7 via the discharge passage 70a and the discharge valve 72, then discharged from the discharge pipe 71.
