Abstract

PURPOSE: To observe the cavitation on both the sides of a vane of a propeller, by perforating a part of the vane and fitting a transparent material in the perforated part.
CONSTITUTION: The prescribed part of the vane of the propeller 1, which is mounted on a boss 3, is perforated. The transparent material 4 is fitted in the perforated part. At that time, two transparent pieces are inserted into the perforated opening from both the sides of the vane and coupled to each other in the middle of the opening. The coupled transparent material is then smoothed to coincide with the original form of the vane. The cavitation on both the sides of the vane can thus be observed.
