Abstract
PURPOSE:To raise the adhesiveness of an active material to a separator by a procedure in which a powdery or gelled raw material for separtor is coated on the surface of an electrode plate with recesses and then baked to form a separtor on the surface. CONSTITUTION:A roller 12 with the embossed convexties 12a is applied on both sides of the electrode plate 11 filled with an active material to form a plural number of the continuous recesses 11a on both sides of the plate 11. Then, a fixed thickness of the separator raw material 14 is flatly provided in the concave mold 13, the electrode plate 11 is placed on the surface of the raw material 14, and then the separtor raw material 14 is coated on the surface of the plte 11. As the separator raw material 14, a powdery or gelled raw material of polyvinyl chloride resin, etc., is used. The plate 11 whose both sides are coated with the separator raw material 14 in this way is baked in a sintering furnace to the film of the separator 15 on the surface of the plate 11.
