Abstract

PURPOSE:To improve the accuracy of editing by performing the processing of adding an error detection or correction code, by detecting the transfer delay time of a PCM signal in electronic editing. CONSTITUTION:Electronic editing is carried out by VTRs 1 and 2, PCM adapter 3, loudspeaker 5, and editing unit 4. Adapter 3 is equipped with the 1st signal transmission line which includes A/D converter 8, change-over switch 9, encoder 10, and video amplifier 11 extending from audio input terminal AI3 to video output terminals VO31 and VO32, and the 2nd signal transmission line which includes synchronous separating circuit 12, decoder 13, change-over switch 14, and D/A converter 15 extending from video input terminal VI3 to audio output terminal AO3. Then, digital signals for detecting a fixed pattern pass through the 1st and the 2nd transmission lines with delay time, which is detected by detecting circuit 24 in unit 4.
