Abstract
PURPOSE:To enable the conversion to ternary signal simply, by selecting the values 0 and 1 in the binary balance code through the simple means wherein e.g. the binary balance code as CMI(coded mark inversion) code is passed through the filter. CONSTITUTION:The waveform A shows the information represented by the binary balance code such as CMI code, and the pattern ''01'' corresponds to the value ''0'', and ''11'' or ''00'' to the value ''1''. The waveform A is input to the low pass filter circuit having the specified characteristics and the waveform B is obtained as the output. This output is separated into positive and negative polarities to be the waveforms C and E. The pattern ''01'' is almost rejected. The waveforms C and E are shaped based on the clock pulse D into the waveforms F and G. By synthesizing the waveforms F and G, the conversion to the ternary code such as alternative mark inversion (AMI) code is made.
