Abstract
PURPOSE: To deposit an amorphous aluminosilicate having superior ion exchange capacity and a relatively large grain size by continuously feeding an aqueous soln. of an alkali aluminate and an aqueous soln. of an alkali silicate to a reactor and reacting them.
CONSTITUTION: An aqueous soln. of an alkali aluminate such as sodium aluminate and an aqueous soln. of an alkali silicate such as sodium silicate are continuously fed to a reactor and reacted. The Al2O3 concn. of the former soln. is desirably 2W25wt%, and the SiO2 concn. of the latter soln. 2W35wt%. The liq. reactant is a slurry, and the starting materials are fed to the reactor so that the molar ratio of SiO2/Al2O3 becomes 0.5W5 in the slurry composition. The reaction temp. is adjusted to 60°CW room temp. After the reaction the liq. reactant is allowed to stand for 1minW10hr, and the deposited amorphous aluminosilicate such as sodium aluminosilicate is taken out by filtration in an amount corresponding to the starting materials. The gtain size of the amorphous aluminosilicate ranges from several μ to several hundreds μ, and less than 1μ grains are slightly contained.
