Abstract

PURPOSE: To manufacture very stable anhydrous dithionite moldings free from dust scattering in use by granulating or molding anhydrous dithionite with an org. binder or an inorg. binder and a volatile solvent and removing the solvent.
CONSTITUTION: An org. binder or/and an inorg. binder are dissolved or mixed into one or more kinds of volatile solvents such as methanol, and anhydrous dithionite pulverized usually to an average gain size of about 5μ is added and mixed optionally together with a known additive, a known stabilizer, etc. This mixture is then rolling-granulated or tableted by a usual method, freef of the solvent by heat drying in an N2 gas stream or vacuum drying, and molded. As the dithionite Na salt or Zn salt is preferably used. Tetramethylol methane and sodium borohydride are, e.g. used as the org. binder and the inorg. binder, respectively.
