Abstract

PURPOSE: To facilitate a centering operation of adjacent wheel chambers of a steam turbine by altering or adjusting the thickness of a shim or shims interposed between a key holder and a key member at a connecting portion of the adjacent wheel chambers.
CONSTITUTION: A thrust key 15 includes a key member 16, a key holder 17, adjusting shims 18, and a clamping bolt 19, and thickness 20 of the thrust key can thus be adjusted by addition or removal of a suitable number of the adjusting shims 18. The structure of the thrust key can thus eliminate the necessity for production of provisional keys and for adjustable working of actual keys, simplify the working processes thereof, and shorten the assembling and adjusting steps of the processes.
