Abstract
PURPOSE: Title coating composition which can provide films having excellent corrosion resistance, prepared by dissolving or dispersing in water, a high-molecular material containing a specific basic group and a compound obtained from a glycidyl compound and an unsaturated carboxylic acid.
CONSTITUTION: Title coating composition is obtained by dissolving or dispersing in water, (a) 100pts.wt. of a carbon to carbon double bond-bearing high-molecular material containing 0.02W0.3mol per 100g of the material, of basic groups represented by formula I, wherein R1 and R2 are H or methyl, R3 and R4 are H or 1W10C hydrocarbon group which can be partially substituted with hydroxyl groups, and X is H or a direct bond, and having a MW of 500W10,000, an iodine value of 100W500, and (b) 3W100pts.wt. of a compound represented by formula II, wherein R5 and R6 are H, 1W10C alkyl, n is 0W20, m is 0W1, Y is a residue of a 3W4C unsaturated carboxylic acid and Y' is H when m=0 and Y when m=1. In the above mixing, the component (a) is neutralized with an acid prior to dissolving or dispersing in water.
