Abstract

PURPOSE: To uniformize the cooling condition for the rod ring, and to improve the mechanical properties of the rod, by installing the mist blast nozzle unit under the nozzle deck.

Suitable number of the mist blowing nozzles 9, being arranged so as to be freely adjustable the jutting length into the plenum chamber 8 and the jutting direction, are installed in the side walls of the plenum chamber 8 formed under the carrier, so as to selectively add the mist to the blast 7 on both sides of the carrier. The mist blast added with the mist 14 is blown against both sides of the carrier; meanwhile, the mist blowing nozzles 9 are fed with the high pressure air 12 and the high pressure water 13 to be respectively supplied from the high pressure air duct 10 and the high pressure water duct 11 both directing the plenum chamber 8, and these two fluids 12, 13, are mixed together within the nozzle 9; hereby, the mist 14 is formed and is blown off.
