Abstract
PURPOSE:To miniaturize the case of an electronic apparatus and device and to diminish the growl of the case generated in the neighborhood of a gap of magnetic circuit by leakage flux by a method wherein the magnetic gap of electromagnetic device is arranged in the direction close to a non-metallic fitting base board put in the metal case. CONSTITUTION:An electromagnetic device 12 is arranged in the metal case 11, the magnetic circuit of the electromagnetic device 12 is consisted of cores 13, 14, a gap 15 and a coil 16, and the gap 15 of the electromagnetic deivce 12 is arranged in the direction close to a non-metallic fitting base board 17. The electromagnetic device 12 is, for example, a power converter to ignite an electrc-discharge lamp 34 provided with an AC source 18, a voltage stabilizing choke coil 21 having a magnetic gap, an inverter transformer 27 and a full-wave rectifying bridge 20, etc. By arranging the base board 17 and the magnetic gap 15 in the direction relatively to close, the electromagnetic force affected by leakage flux on the case 11 is made to be weak and the growl generated from the case 11 is diminished when the size of the case 11 is made to be small.
