Abstract
PURPOSE: To obtain a steady and smooth pump work by setting the delivery stroke of a flush pump to accord almost perfectly with the phase change of a main pump into a suction stroke for providing effective flushing to the shaft sealing part of a plunger.
CONSTITUTION: In order to connect the driving source of a flush-liquid-supply reciprocation pump 28 with that of a plunger 12 for a main pump in one body, a reduction gear 36 is provided with respective crank mechanisms, and each gear shaft 34 of this reduction gear 36 is jointed by a connecting means 40 such as a coupling, and connected to a common motor 30. In this construction, when the main pump is on a suction stroke, the flush pump 28 is on a delivery stroke, and flush liquid is introduced into a flush area 16 via a flush pipe 14 by a fixed pressure, and washes off the slurry stuck to the plunger 12 for preventing the entering into a seal packing 18.
