Abstract
PURPOSE:Title, nondusting, easily dispersible pigmenting composition which is free from a problem of color unevenness, prepared by attaching a pigment, a wetting dispersant and a polycarbonate-dissolving solvent to the surface of a powder polycarbonate resin, and evaporating the solvent. CONSTITUTION:(A) a mixture containing (a) 100pts.wt. of a classified or sized powdery polycarbonate, particle diameter 150-200mum, and (b) 0.1-10pts.wt. of a pigment such as TiO2 or cyanine pigment is mixed with (B) a mixture containing (c) 0.05-10pts.wt. per 100pts.wt. of (a), of a wetting dispersant selected from plasticizers such as paraffins, petroleum-derived lubricant and dioctyl phthalate and (d) 0.1-10pts.wt. of a polycarbonate-dissolving solvent such as methylene chloride or dioxane. Thereby, the pigment and wetting dispersant are uniformly dispersed and attached to the surface of the resin. Then, the solvent is removed from the product by evaporation.
