Abstract

PURPOSE: To protect cylinder against runaway, by operating a cylinder to its stop position through detection of the stop position of a piston fitted in the cylinder, and supplying pneumatic air or hydraulic oil under control of the spool position of a two-position solenoid valve.
CONSTITUTION: The safety system of this invention comprises a limit switch 29 which gives an output signal when it detects the stop position of a piston for cylinder 26 in the direction C, another limit switch 30 which gives an output signal when it detects the stop position of the piston in the direction D, a control means which controls the position of two-position solenoid valve 27 in response to the output signals from said limit switches 29, 30, and a power source relay sequence circuit which connect the power source for driving the solenoid valve after passing of a predetermined time period from the time when a control power source (not shown) is connected. Through provision of such a safety system, the piston for cylinder 26 is held in its stop position in the direction D, so that it is protected against runaway.
