Abstract

PURPOSE: The titled combined composite filament yarn, capable of giving an appearance like a natural fiber on splitting, prepared by the combination of composite filament yarns of special cross-section consisting of a plurality of polymers having a poor affinity for one another.
CONSTITUTION: Composite filament yarns consisting of polymers A and B having a poor affinity for each other are combined with composite filament yarns consisting of polymers B and C having a poor affinity for each other. The filament yarns are arranged to have a cross-section wherein one of the yarn is divided by the other yarn into plural zones and exposed to the yarn surfaces in the symmetry of roration. Examples of the polymers A, B and C include a homo- or copolyamide, e.g. nylon 6 and 66, a homo- or copolyester, e.g. polyethylene terephthalate.
