PURPOSE:To detect securely a state that a formed article is hanged up at a part of a metal mould by arranging several sensors and comparing the brightness after the mould opening and ejction of the previous time with that after the mould opening and ejection of this time. CONSTITUTION:An injection moulding machine 1 has a metal mould divided into two parts, a fixed mould 2 and a movable mould 3. A television camera 9 is provided to take the pictures of the inside of the movable mould 3 when the movable mould 3 is at a prescribed position. The brightness, or the output of the television camera 9, after the mould opening and ejection of the previous time is compared with that after the mould opening and ejection of this time. When this difference is equal to zero or smaller than a prescribed value, it is confirmed that a formed article does not remain in the movable mould 3.
