PURPOSE:To make a commutator segment easy to insert and also to prevent a flash from arising by a method wherein a projection to insert and fix the commutator segment is provided on inner periphery of a molding fixture, and a projecting corner on insertion side of the commutator segment is chamfered. CONSTITUTION:A projection 13 extending axially is provided plurally at equal pitch on inner periphery of a cylindrical part 12 of a molding fixture 1, and both corners of each projection 13 on the side of inserting a commutator segment are chamfered at an angle theta2. The angle theta2 is taken, for example, at 30 deg.. A head of the commutator segment 2 is inserted between the projections 13 to fix the commutator segment 2 and after arranging it in a mold, a molding material is given therein to make a mold commutator. This way of constitution will make the commutator segment 2 easy to insert between the projections 13 and also prevent a squeezing refuse from coming out of the commutator segment, and a defective insulation between the commutator segments due to flash can be decreased.
