Abstract
PURPOSE:To obtain supeior effect for preventing explosion contraction by setting the foamed synthetic-resin tape having thermosetting type adhesive layer between a tension band and the funnel part outside surface. CONSTITUTION:In arranging a tension band on the outside peripheral surface in the vicinity of the maximum diameter part of the cathode ray tube funnel part and in fastening and fixing the cathode ray tube, foaming agent is mixed in a prescribed proportion to thermoplastic resin or thermosetting resin in the space between the trnsion band and the outside surface, and fillers and antioxidants may be added if necessary. Between the foamed resin tape which is formed into sheet at a temperature where the foaming agent is not substantially decomposed, the tape for preventing explosion contraction which has a thermosetting type adhesive layer is interposed, and this resin tape is heated and foamed, and the adhesive agent is hardened. Therefore, the discrepancy of position of the tension band is not formed, and uniform fastening force can be applied onto the whole outside surface, and superior effect for preventing explosion contraction can be developed.
