Abstract

PURPOSE: To attain a recycle of hydrogen fluoride-boron trifluoride by a method wherein a hydrocarbon layer is separated from a reaction liquid produced by isomerizing hydrocarbon and a catalyst component within this layer is recovered by a hydrogen fluoride containing absorbing liquid.
CONSTITUTION: A stock material hydrocarbon is isomerized by using a hydrogen fluoride-boron trifluoride catalyst. A reaction product liquid during or after the reaction is transferred to a tank 4 to be separated into a catalyst layer and a hydrocarbon layer and the catalyst layer is transferred to an absorbing tank 6 as an absorbing agent, on the other hand, the hydrocarbon layer is introduced into a distillation tower 8 and, herein, separated into a catalyst component and a product hydrocarbon moreover. A distillate from a tower top is introduced into a condenser 10 to liquify a part of hydrogen fluoride therein and this liquified hydrogen fluoride is sent to a line 11W13. On the other hand, a noncondensed component is contacted with a catalyst layer from a tank 4 and a condenser 10 in a tank 6 to absorb HF- BF3 within components to an absorbing liquid. This liquid is again used in isomerization.
