Abstract

PURPOSE:To prevent deterioration of fluorescent light emitting device of optical fiber recording tube, by increasing or decreasing the potential of latent image forming surface, before obtaining the toner image corresponding to the latent image formed in either one of the two latent image forming processes. CONSTITUTION:When obtaining a recorded image of the original in one of the two latent image forming parts, for example, in the first latent image forming part I1, not a compound image, first the aperture H of a light shutter S is opened, and the drum surface D is uniformly radiated by lighr from light source I1d, and the drum surface D is uniformly charged by a charging part C at the same time. In this state, a latent image is formed in the latent image forming part I1. When recording only by an optical fiber recording tube OFT which is the second latent image forming part I2 also, similarly, while radiating uniformly the surface of the drum D by light from the light source I1d, the surface of the drum D is uniformly charged by the charging part C. Thus, since the drum surface D is not radiated by fluorescent light emission from the OFT recording tube, the deterioration of the OFT recording tube may be prevented.
