Abstract
PURPOSE: To simplify the structure of the angle detector as a whole as well as ensure the accurate detection of the steering angle through detection of the steering angle by the sliding contact between the fixed resistor and the contact provided to the component which interlocks the column shaft.
CONSTITUTION: When rotary component 19 rotates in linkage to rotation of column shaft 17, sliding contact 20 contacts resistor 25 fixed to the bottom part of spiral groove 25 to begin the sliding motion. The potential detected by contact 20 is delivered to the output terminal in the form of the detection signal and via contacts 22 and 21, lead wire 23 plus output contacts 25a and 25b each. Contact 20 is attached to component 19 in the slidable way. Thus contact 20 slides over resistor 24 with the rotation of shaft 17 which is caused by operation of steering wheel 13. As a result, the voltage signals can be extracted in accordance with the steering angle.
