Abstract
PURPOSE: To accelerate the proliferation, to increase the yield, and to improve the qualities of photosynthetic bacteria, by culturing the bacteria in a specific lighted atmosphere wherein the radiations of light having specific range of wavelength are suppressed.
CONSTITUTION: Photosynthetic bacteria and cultured in lighted atmosphere wherein the radiations of light having a wavelength of ≤340nm, pref. ≤360nm, more pref. ≤380nm, are suppressed. To ensure the growth and proliferation of the photosynthetic bacteria by photosynthesis, the culturing atmosphere is pref. lighted with light pref. having a wavelength of ≥450nm. The photosynthetic bacteria are, e.g. Phodospirillineae, Chlorobineae, etc. To carry out the above procedure, it is preferable to cover the bacteria with a covering material which suppresses the transmission of light having wavelength of ≤380nm, and transmits the light having wavelength of ≥450nm.
