Abstract

PURPOSE:To enable the operation of a generator up to the full extent of its capability and to lessen the shock generated when an overexcitation is restricted by changing an allowable field current value in proportion to an inner-cooling gas compression and also by allowing a short period overexitation using a step signal. CONSTITUTION:A voltage Vg in proportion to the inner-cooling gas compression of a generator 1 detected by a converter 10 is added to the base quantity Vb established by a setting device 11, and a set point for the allowable field current is obtained by a circuit 12. Then the voltage of the generator 1 is detected by a detection relay 25, and if the generator voltage is above +5% and the field current is above the allowable value, the output of a deviation detector 8 is immediately given to an AVR4, through the intermediatry of a polarity converting amplifier 49, with a relay 25 energized by the output of a comparator 24. In the case where the generator has normal voltage and a system voltage has dropped, a detector 13 detects an excessive field voltage and a timer 14 is energized. After elapse of the set time, a contact 15a gives an ''ON'' indication, the pulse of a V/F converter 46 is counted 47, and then a step type signal, obtained by D/A conversion 48, is given to the AVR4.
