Abstract
PURPOSE: To stabilize methylchloroform effectively, by preventing or inhibiting its decomposition, in the presence of an organic phosphite in a novel combination with an epoxide, as a stabilizer.
CONSTITUTION: Methylchloroform is stabilized in the presence of an organic phosphite, e.g. triphenyl, tributyl or tridecyl phosphite, in an amount of 0.0001W1pt.wt. based on 100pts.wt. of the methylchloroform, combined with an epoxide, e.g. 1,2- butylene oxide or epichlorohydrin, in an amount of 0.0001W1pt.wt. based on 100pts.wt. of the methylchloroform.
