Abstract

PURPOSE:To remarkably reduce the amount of processing of the line control section or upper-rank unit, by providing the means to compare the transmission character CHR given from the line control section with specified CHR and the circuit producing the error control code. CONSTITUTION:When the start of transmissin is instructed from the line control section to the line adaptor section 1 and the transmission CHR is transferred to the transmission CHR buffer 5, the adaptor control section 2 instructs it to the CHR comparison circuit 3, which compares the content of the buffer 5 and the designated CHR in the sepcified CHR. When the result of comparison is in agreement, the contorl section 2 reports it to the line control section to hold the start to the check code generating circuit 4 having the operating function and the generation of the error control code untill another instruction is given from the line control section. Succeedingly, when the transmission CHR in the buffer 5 is transmitted to the CHR separation cicuit 6 and the instruction of check code transmission is given from the line control section, the control section 2 instructs that the result of operation of the circuit 4 is transmitted to the data transmission line. Accordingly, the operation of check code is not required for the upper-rank units.
