Abstract

PURPOSE:To decrease the fluctuation of electric power without decreasing the braking effect by detecting the variation in an angular speed in a generator shaft system, removing the vibrating component of the tortion of the shaft in a shaft system, and braking the generator. CONSTITUTION:A synchronous generator 7 is directly coupled to a low-pressure turbines 11 and 13 and a high-prssure turbine 14 by a shaft system 12. Angular- speed detectors 16H and 16G are provided at both ends of the shaft 12. The outputs of the detectors are given to multipliers 17H and 17G which are provided with specified detecting gains K1 and K2, and are computed therein. The vibrating- frequency component of the higher-order tortion of the shaft is removed out of the signal from a signal-reset circuit 20 by a band cancellating filter 19. A field 10 of said generator 7 is controlled by way of a thyristor 9. Since the vibrating component of the tortion of the shaft is removed out of the detected signal of the variation in the angular speed, the torque output can be regulated; and the electric power system can be effectively stabilized.
