Abstract

PURPOSE:To prevent damage of a bearing on account of expansion of an inner race of the bearing by circulating gas in a circular gas room to ventilate which is provided in a sealing section of a turning shaft, thereby to cool the sealing section from the turning shaft. CONSTITUTION:A shaft cover 3 is located between the external face of a turning shaft 4 and the internal face of a stationary pole block 2. Fluxes caused by a magnet 8 are concentrated to circular fine projections 31 formed on the cover 3. Magnetic fluid 9 charged in fine projections 3 functions to seal gas. The shaft cover 3 encloses a circular gas room 13 which contains a guide cylinder 121. When the turning shaft 4 is turned to the point where a nozzle 11 at the end of an inlet vent pipe 131 meets an inner through hole 122 formed on the circumference of a spacer 12, jet is fed at high velocity from the nozzle 11 into the gas room 13 to cool the sealing section of the shaft cover 3.
