Abstract

PURPOSE:To facilitate mounting work, of shock absorber by incorporating a variety of bushes, brackets, and spring seats into rod, and pressing the rod by a collar, and forming a shock absorber in unit. CONSTITUTION:In mounting work, at first, the top end of the rod 1 of a shock absorber in unit is inserted into the fitting hole 9a of a chassis 9 by means of a collar 3. After a bush 10, plate 11, and washer 12 are inserted onto the top end of the rod 1, a nut 13 is fastened. Due to screwing-in of the nut 13, the rod 1 is pulled up, and a spring seat 4 is lowered, and a bush 6 is compressed, and the collar 3 rises with the rod 1. When bushes 26 and 10 are set in a proper compression state, the upper end surface of the collar 3 contacts with the washer 12, and then locked by a lock nut 14, and thus mounting work of the rod 1 onto the chassis 9 is completed.
