Abstract

PURPOSE: To prevent a flow meter vane wheel from being unevely rotated, and produce the vane wheel at an improved efficiency, by forming a rotation detecting layer consisting of a magnetic material on one or a plurality of portions of an outer end section of each of blades of the vane wheel.
CONSTITUTION: A flow meter vane wheel 1 consists of a hub 2 and blades 3. The hub 2 having a central bore 4 is supported on a shaft passed therethrough, and disposed in a pipe, through which a fluid to be measured flows to rotate the hub 2. The hub 2 and baldes 3 are formed with a nonmagnetic material, such as a plastic. A rotation detecting layer 5 consisting of a magnetic material is formed on an outer end section of each of the blades 3. A layer 6 of a high molecular resin is formed on the detecting layer 5 by coating the same with fluororesin. The layer 6 serves to prevent the detecting layer 5 from being worn or corroded due to the fluid to be measured. The detecting layer 5 thus formed has a sufficiently small thickness as compared with the blade 3. Therefore, the detecting layers 5 never cause an unbalanced load. Accordingly, the vane wheel 1 is always rotated evenly, and can be produced in large quantities speedily or at an improved efficinecy.
