Abstract

PURPOSE: To prevent the disorder of the pipe arrangement pitch and to obtain a low-priced heat exchanger by bending a heat exchanger body composed of pipes around which fins are wound, before speedily and accurately fixing the adjacent fins to each other by melting.
CONSTITUTION: Fins 2a and 2b wound around adjacent pipes 1a and 1b respectively are arranged so as to lap each other. Melting a portion of the fins 2a and 2b by using a gas burner 5 causes them to begin to shrink towards the pipes 1a and 1b respectively around which they are wound. Making the fins 2a and 2b twine round each other by utilizing the shrinkage phenomenon permits the pipe (1a and 1b) arrangement pitch of a heat exchanger 4 to be properly secured. The heat exchanger 4 thus obtained has a low running-cost, and is easy to automatically produce, so that a stable quality can be obtained.
