Abstract
PURPOSE: To effect the stable formation of alloy plating layer having a constant composition in plating Zn-Ni alloy on the steel strip in acidic bath contg. Zn and Ni by restricting relative velocity of strip and liquid as well as current density.
CONSTITUTION: The steel strip is dipped into an acidic plating bath in which inorganic salts of Zn and Ni are dissolved. Electroplating is counducted under 20A/dm2 or more current density, maintaining the flow rate of plating solution or the moving speed of strip at 20m/min or more. In this process, even if changes occur in bath temperature, current density or stirring condition, Zn-Ni alloy plating layer having a constant composition is stably formed. Particulary, 8W15% content of Ni provides remarkably enhanced corrosion resistance.
