Abstract

PURPOSE: To make possible always even coating by effectively changing the intensity of the magnetic field acting upon the thickness defining means of the developer.
CONSTITUTION: When the signal for fixing a magnet 12 is emitted from a control circuit 14 by button operation, a plunger 17 is retreated and a positioning magnet 15 opposes to a toner supporting member 10. At this time, the magnet 12 stops turning as well and so stops that its opposite magnetic pole comes to the position where it opposes to the magnet 15 by the action of the magnetic force of the positioning magnet 15. When the signal for turning the magnet 12 is emitted from the control circuit 14 by button operation, the magnet 12 starts turning and the plunger 16 is released. Then, the force of a spring 18 causes the positioning magnet 15 to go away from the toner supporting member 10 as shown by the broken line and the magnet 12 can turn smoothly.
