Abstract

PURPOSE: To minimize wear of rollers themselves and on the inner surface of casing, by supporting the rollers by means of seal rings disposed on opposite sides of rotor, in the manner that rotating rollers are always held in sliding contact with the inner peripheral surface of the casing under a constant contact force.
CONSTITUTION: In casing 1, there are assembled an eccentric rotor 8 and seal rings 9 formed with radial cut 14 and disposed on the opposite sides of rotor 8. Rollers 11 are placed in freely rotatable manner in respective recesses 10 formed radially around the peripheral portion of eccentric rotor 8, and shafts 12 of these rollers 11 are supported by opposite seal rings 9 in the manner that rollers 11 are held in contact with the inner peripheral surface of casing 1. In the above arrangement, opposite seal rings 9 are rotated together along with rotataion of rotor 8. Here, if thermal expansion of seal rings 9 is caused due to their temperature rise or otherwise if they are forced outwards by the centrifugal force of rollers 11, increasing in the diameter of seal rings 9 due to thermal expansion can be prevented by the function of cuts 14, so that their smooth rotation in casing 1 can be ensured.
