Abstract
PURPOSE:To facilitate starting of an electric motor, by impressing, at the time of starting of an induction motor, step wise AC voltage onto the motor in such a manner and for such a period of time that this impression is done thoroughly to the maximum value but not to such an extent as to cause saturation to the motor. CONSTITUTION:When, at the time of starting of an induction motor, a variable frequency inverter 5 is operated by a starting frequency and a switch 23 is turned on, a rectifier 2 is commanded to pass a current suitable for a starting current referance signal 21. At this time, a sine-wave step input is given to the motor whereby excessive DC and AC components induced to the rotor side interact with rotating magnetic field each other to increase starting torque. And then, switches 23 and 22 are turned off and on, respectively, for switchover to voltage control by starting voltage reference signal 24. After the motor was accelerated to a prescribed speed, a speed reference input switch 16 is turned on to raise an output 18 of an inclination signal generation circuit, and when an output 19 of a pattern circuit 13 exceeded a prescribed voltage, a diode 26 is turned on and a diode 25 is turned off to execute voltage control by pattern output.
