Abstract

PURPOSE: To reduce electric power consumption by keeping a voltage drop due to the control transistor of a tape driving motor constant without reference to an operation mode by changing a driving-power-voltage change-over switch over according to the operation mode.
CONSTITUTION: Switch 6 is changed over according to an operation mode; in play mode, batteries 4aW4c are connected in parallel and in fast-winding or rewinding mode, they are connected in series. As a result, a voltage applied to motor 3 via transistor 2 for speed control is held low and high respectively to transfer required torque from motor 3 to a tape driving mechanism. Therefore, a voltage drop of transistor 2 is kept constant without reference to an operation mode in comparison with control over a voltage applied to motor 3 corresponding to variation in voltage drop of transistor 2 by controlling the base voltage of the transistor, and electric power consumed in play mode by transistor 2 is reduced. As a result, a tape recorder driving circuit is realized which has battery life prolonged as the result of low power consumption.
