Abstract
PURPOSE: To achieve the reduction of equipment cost and the improvement in welding workability by relatively combining vacuum sealing materials, etc. of L-type to correspond a vacuum atmosphere to the shape of the work.
CONSTITUTION: Vacuum sealing materials 2, 3 of L-type are combined and are corresponded to the shape of the weld zone. Materials such as rubber and synthetic resins are used for the sealing materials and they are so made as to maintain rigidness and satisfy sufficient vacuum sealability when placed thereon with welding frames. For the welding works of different curvatures such as circular structures, the long-length sealing materials parallel in the weld line direction are made straight and the selected sealing materials 5 of a shorter length are used for the spacers 6 which intersect orthogonally with the weld line and have the curvature meeting the works. These makes possible the flexible application to the works of different welding lengths and curvatures. In addition, adaptability to the welding lengths becomes higher.
