Abstract
PURPOSE: To obtain the title novel useful hydrate by suspending Na2O, SiO2, CaO and H2O on the basis of a starting material charging coefft. and an alkalinity coefft. calculated according to specified equations and reacting the suspension hydrothermally.
CONSTITUTION: When a suspension is reacted hydrothermally to obtain calcium sodium silicate hydrate, starting materials are charged on the basis of the following starting material charging coefft. T and the following alkalinity coefft. U: supposing Na2O in the suspension to be X mol, SiO2 Y mol, CaO Z mol and H2O S mol, equations T=(9Y-32Z)/(9X-12Z) and U=(3X-4Z)/3S and equations T= (9Y-32Z)/(9X-3Z) and U=(3X-Z)/3S are established when sodium salt is by- produced and is not by-produced by the reaction, respectively. The materials are blended so that T becomes 1.2W3 and U becomes 0.01 or more. The hydrate obtd. by this reaction is crystalline, has specified X-ray diffraction lines, and is useful as an inorg. ion exchanger.
