Abstract

PURPOSE: A microcapsule containing asparaginase having improved ability to hydrolyze asparagine and a great asparaginase activity, prepared by using a polyurethane obtained from the reaction product between a polyfunctional isocyanate and water as a capsule wall.
CONSTITUTION: A polyfunctional isocyanate or its adduct with a polyamine or polyol or both are dissolved in a water-immiscible organic solvent, e.g. toluene or ethyl acetate, and an aqueous liquid wherein asparaginase is dissolved or dispersed is emulsified or dispersed in the solution. A interface reaction of the isocyanate or/ and its adduct with water is initiated to form a capsule wall.
