Abstract

PURPOSE: To provide the title gas having high contrasting effect, by mixing Xe with O2 thereby saving the expensive Xe gas.
CONSTITUTION: A mixed gas composed of 50W80vol% of Xe and 50W20vol% of O2, or 60W80vol% of Xe and Kr and 40W20vol% of O2. Xe is an expensive gas existing in air as low as 0.086×10-4vol% and difficult to separate. The combined use of Xe with O2 and Kr enables the reduction of the amount of Xe without lowering the contrasting effect. The gas containing 60% of Xe has high X-ray absorption, and gives satisfactory contrasting effect in 1W3min after inhalation.
