Abstract

PURPOSE:To reduce the stress to be produced and the thickness of a tank plate by a method wherein a reinforcing connecting plate is attached to the corner of a box reinforcing body of the tank, and its edge is fixed to the specified position of the semi-circle portion of the side plate of the tank proper as specified. CONSTITUTION:A reinforcing plate 10 is square, and one end of the plate is connected to the corner of a box reinforcing body 6, while the other end is connected to the portion 11 where the long side 1a and semi-circle 1b of a side plate are connected together. The angle theta which the reinforcing plate 10 forms with a plate 6 corresponds to the tangent line at the connected portion 1, and the position where the reinforcing plate 10 is connected to a tank is such that it is within an area where a moment in the circumferential direction of the semi-circle 1b is the smallest. By this constitution, the concentration of stress near the portion where the box reinforcing body and the side plate of the tank is extremely lightened. Therefore, the thickness of the side plate of the tank can be reduced.
