Abstract

PURPOSE: To provide the above-identified structure, which is free from reduction of the frictional property even in case of intrusion of snow water into contact with the frictional surface and also has insulating property, by incorporating sintered metal blocks such that they occupy a paritcular proportion of the frictional surface area of the synthetic resin insulating brake wheel.
CONSTITUTION: Sintered metal blocks 1 each have tapering end surfaces 7 and are provided on the side opposite the side constituting a frictional surface with endwise projections 8. Thus, they are firmly secured within the synthetic resin brake wheel 2, and their frictional surface occupies 15 to 80% of the entire frictional surface area. The frictional surface of the sintered metal blocks 1 is porous and prevents formation of a lublicating film of water wetting it, and also it generates heat of friction to cause the water wetting it to be quickly removed by evaporation and thus prevent reduction of the coefficient of friction. Also, since the brake wheel is formed by thermal pressure molding of a synthetic resin incorporating an insulating material, the frictional surface 3 is insulated from a brake wheel 4.
