Abstract
PURPOSE:To increase the packing density of molding sand in island parts, joint parts, etc. by letting compressed air pass through the molding sand packed in the molding flask to increase the packing density of the pattern plate surface then pressing the molding sand in the molding flask by said pattern plate. CONSTITUTION:Molding sand 14 is charged into the spacing formed by placing a molding flask 7 on a flask assisting member 6 and sealing the bottom openings by a pattern plate 1. Thence, a hermetic cover 8 is placed on top of the molding flask 7 to hermetically seal the upper opening of the flask 7. When compressed air is supplied for the specified time into the molding flask 7 through this hermetic cover 8, the air passes in the molding sand 14 and lets the molding sand deposit densely on the pattern plate 1 surface. It is then exhausted to the outside through small holes 3, 3'. Thence, the supply of the compressed air is stopped, the hermetic cover 8 is removed and a stationary compression plate 12 is placed and fixed, after which the pattern plate 1 is operated in the arrow direction to be entered into the molding flask 7, whereby the molding sand 14 is squeezed.
