Abstract

PURPOSE:To reduce cathode current by providing a means which deflecting an electron beam between the cathode current and anode current and locating the electron beam at the center of the minute transparent hole on the G2 electrode. CONSTITUTION:The deflection electrodes 8-1-8-4 are provided outside the G1 electrode 2 and the G2 electrode 3 and an electrostatic deflection magnetic field is actuated on the electron beam 5 using the gap between the G1 electrode 2 and the G2 electrode 3. The deflection electrodes 8-3 and 8-4 are connected to the G2 electrode 3. This permits the electron beam 5 to be located at the center of the minute transparent hole 4 on the electrode 3 due to deflection field.
