Abstract

PURPOSE: To prevent a head from crashing for a long period by suppressing the uneven-deposition of a lubricant layer covering a medium opposing surface by dispersedly making many fine pits on the opposing surface.
CONSTITUTION: For example, an appropriate etching solution such as a hydrofluoric acid and hot nitric acid is used for partial etching along the crystal grain boundary of the surface of ferrite head 2, thereby making pits 3. Lubricant 4, stored in those pits 3, are taken out from pits 3 and supplied between the magnetic disk 1 face and head 2. In addition, pits 3 stop the lubricant from moving to prevent uneven-deposition due to friction with head 2.
