Abstract

PURPOSE: To enable to prevent generation of noises at the time of actuating brake, by making the friction force acted between the side face of rotor and the end portion of pad lining located on the opposite side of anchor smaller than that acted between the side face of rotor and the end portion of pad lining located on the side of anchor.
CONSTITUTION: Generation of noises is prevented by employing an arrangement in which friction force acted between the side face of rotor 1 and end portion 5a of lining 5 for disk-brake pad 3 located on the opposite side of anchor is lowered so that the end portion 5a does not come into strong contact with the side face of rotor 1 if end portion 5a tilts onto the side face of rotor 1. In order to lower the friction force acted between the end portion 5a and the side face of rotor 1, end portion 5a of lining 5 for pad 3 is shaped, for instance, into a round form. With such an arrangement, it is prevented that end portion 5a comes into strong contact with the side face of rotor 1 if end portion 5a tilts onto the side face of rotor 1 at the time of actuating brake, so that required objects can be attained.
