Abstract

PURPOSE: To improve the abrasion resistance and galling resistance of the captioned electrode deposited metal by conatituting the electrode by the core and covering which are so component-controlled that the deposited metal having been welded becomes of the specific composition containing Ni, Si, B, Nb, C and the rest Fe.
CONSTITUTION: This coated electrode used for case hardening build-up welding is constituted by the core and covering which are so component-controlled that the deposited metal composition having been welded consist of Ni; ≥40%, Si; 3W8%, B; 0.1W0.5%, Nb; 0.3W2%, C; 0.2W1.5%, and the rest Fe and unavoidable impurities. With this electrode, not only is obtained the deposited metal having superior hardness and abrasion resistance but also the occurrence of galling flaws owing to seizure is obviated even if lubricating oil is not used particularly in the slide contact of the press dies build-up welded with this deposited metal and the steel plate being the work.
